Amber Bledsoe grew up in Rushville, IL and currently resides in Grand Rapids, MI where she received her MFA in Printmaking at Kendall College of Art and Design (2018). Her current body of work explores the complexities of relationships in her life through manipulation of material often including the knotting and braiding of rope, paper casting vessels, basket weaving techniques, and growing crystals. Through repetitive actions she is able to weave, print, emboss, and encase the fibrous connections of her life.

Bledsoe has served as an intern for Island Press, Contemporary Print Editions and Artist Projects (St. Louis, MO) and as Co-Director for Alluvium Gallery (Grand Rapids, MI).  She has participated in many exhibitions throughout the Midwest and presented at institutions such as the Saint Louis Science Center and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Bledsoe has received funding to attend Ox-Bow School of Art (MI), Penland School of Crafts (NC), Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts (TN), and The Golden Apple Art Residency (ME). Most recently, she spent the month of May in the Hudson Valley attending the ChaNorth Artist Residency (NY).
