A Mosaic is a picture or pattern produced by arranging together small colored pieces of hard material, such as stone, tile, or glass. Our Mosaic classes are similar to a mosaic picture. Each month we will learn about a component of visual art. When you put those pieces together you get a larger picture of what art is. This class is a good option for students who want to keep their art skills sharp even if they can’t take art in school.
Each month we will be honing different sets of art skills.
Hand Lettering | Hand lettering is a combination of calligraphy and modern font. It is a fun way to journal, make tags, and stay organized! This January students will learn the how to hand letter a variety of fonts and how to mix fonts to create fun visual effects. Students will get to keep a set of lettering pens and a journal.
Printmaking | Students will have the opportunity to learn different printmaking techniques. This February students will explore linoleum prints, mono prints, and silk screen printing.
Sculpture | This class will work with basic sculpture techniques in clay. Students will learn techniques and tricks to build their sculpting skills.
Mosaic | A mosaic is a piece of art made by putting together many pieces of tile or glass. Students will get the chance to learn about mosaics and make their own mosaic.
