Views of Nature

Artist Statement

When I am painting or drawing, I need tranquility. This allows me to focus on the scene/nature. My response, rather than literal, is to capture competing forces in marks, colors and forms. While I respond in summer and winter to contrasting tones: in autumn and spring, it is to lines and colors. For me, a work is a heightened moment and a personal process of how my mind filters perceptual reality.
