Andrea Kliffmiller
Artist Statement
I make prints and clay work in an attempt to explore my experience as an individual, a mother, and a caregiver to a child with chronic illness. My process is cathartic and laborious; I arrange and assemble units of pinched, fragile forms. The act of making these configurations allows me to establish a tactile representation of my own feelings of grief and loss. The repeating forms and patterns are physical manifestations of my familiarity with fragility, brokenness, and strength.
